Western Music Syllabus
About the Course
At Cadenza Music Academy, we offer specialised training in the Western Music Theory syllabus from Grade 6 to Grade 11, fully aligned with the school curriculum. These lessons are designed to help students strengthen their theoretical knowledge while preparing confidently for school term tests and the GCE O/L Western Music Examination.
Aligned with School Syllabus
Our programme is carefully designed to follow the Western Music Theory syllabus taught in schools from Grade 6 to Grade 11. Lessons cover all the required topics step by step — from notation, scales, and intervals, to harmony, form, and analysis. By closely matching the school curriculum, we ensure that students feel confident when preparing for class tests, term exams, and the GCE O/L Western Music Examination.
Comprehensive Exam Preparation
We go beyond simply “covering the syllabus.” Students practice with past papers, model answers, and timed mock tests, developing strong exam techniques and learning how to present their answers clearly. Teachers provide regular feedback and personalised guidance, so each student can strengthen weaker areas while building on their existing knowledge. This thorough preparation gives them the confidence to aim for high marks and academic success.
Strong Musical Foundations for the Future
Our training is not only about exams — it’s about creating a deep and lasting understanding of music. Students learn how theory connects to the music they play, making lessons practical, relevant, and inspiring. By mastering the basics of notation, chords, and harmony, they develop a foundation that supports both their instrumental studies and their wider appreciation of Western music.
